Lucky the goat

I have read that a goat may be a good companion for a horse. Actually I read a fiction story about a lovely stallion who was not happy without his goat friend.
However Bishop is not so sure...

At the stables where Bishop lives a goat has recently taken up residence. She lives in a stall near several ponies. I wonder what the ponies think of her.

She is quite a pretty animal and very affectionate. She is a nice beige colour just like Bishop. She also likes to run and play like Bishop does when he is feeling frisky in the colder weather or when he gets excited.

He certainly got excited today. The ring was quite muddy so I was being careful so that Bishop would not slip. Actually he was doing quite fine - especially with his four new shoes. Even though he is 9 years old and should be a grown up horse he really is not.

So when Lucky the goat came bouncing out of the barn Bishop the horse spooked. He could not quite understand who that was bouncing around so much.

So Vicki the rider fell off Bishop the horse. It was quite muddy where she landed but she certainly was not hurt - only quite muddy. Bishop is quite a gentle fellow so he just stood there and looked at his mom on the ground in the mud.

A couple of folks came by and asked whether I was o.k. I suggested they might find Lucky the goat and put her back in her stall. So the next time Vicki rides Bishop the horse she will look around carefully to see if Lucky the goat is bouncing around anywhere!!
